Motor tester

The motor wires or insulation may be damaged during production. Routine testing is necessary for this very reason. Manual testing is time-consuming, less reliable, and traceable when compared to the use of an automatic tester.

Automatic motor and winding tester for testing coil insulation, coil resistance, and shading coils. All measurements in three phases are carried out with a one-time connection to the ends of the coil, and the recorded measurements are automatically sent to the server. The tester is accessible over Ethernet and the smart phone app.

Cable harness tester

The wire harnesses can suffer from incorrect connections due to connection errors, or to insulation or conductor faults. Product quality needs to be perfect. Manual testing is time-consuming, less reliable and traceable compared to an automatic tester.

Automatic harness tester CaTs16 is designed for the automatic connection testing of electrical appliances and wire harnesses. The tester can be used for the automatic testing of wire harnesses with up to sixteen connection points.

Advantages

  • Very fast automatic testing – less than one second
  • Accurate and reliable detection of connection faults
  • A connection test with a 5mA current
  • Insulation test with a 10V voltage
  • Simple changing of the connection table – no need for any programming knowledge
  • A cost-effective solution, primarily for small producers of machines and apparatuses

The harness tester comprises the main unit and the test adapters. The optional test adapters have to be designed and manufactured according to the connections and terminals that are on the harness that is to be tested. The adapters are connected to the main unit by connectors and highly flexible cables. The power supply has been arranged with a separate power adapter (included in the delivery).

Electronics tester

Manual testing of complicated electronic control cards requires a qualified electronic engineer and the work is time-consuming and costly.

HKL commissioned ET-EX Machina to design and build an automatic tester for a tram’s electronic cards. The machine can test 23 different electronic assemblies. Testing is carried out either automatically, by manual tuning, or by step-by-step fault finding.

The tester allows the very rapid, accurate, and complete tuning and testing of complex electronic equipment without the need for highly qualified personnel. Test protocols are automatically stored and sent to a server.

Servo drives for a small craft towing tank

Estonia’s small craft and ship builders needed close-to-reality test conditions to be able to develop safe, fast, and energy-efficient and materials-efficient hulls.

In cooperation with AS Baltic Workboats, we fulfilled the order which had been placed by TTU Kuressaare college’s Small Craft Competence Centre to design, deliver, and install Lenze servo drives as well as power and safety systems for the hull carriage and the wave generator. The servo drives are operated over EtherCat. The sixty-metre towing tank is used to study the characteristics of various small craft models at different speeds and in wave conditions.

The wave generator has six individually servo-controlled laps, which allows almost any possible waveform to be formed according to mathematical formulae.
